Reviewer: Tyler Timmons,
The kit is working fine for me now but it is more like a 10 gauge not an 8 gauge.

got the job done but i found out after the install that the wire isnt the claimed gauge. go to walmart and get their true-claim wires for about the same price. scosche is way better quality.
not 'real' 8 guage

The wire inside the thick insulation is maybe 10 or 12 gauge. The outer diameter is the same as a normal 8 gauge car audio power wire, however it's mostly insulation. Very poor quality wire. Look elsewhere.
DON'T BUY THIS

Reviewer: A. Gift For You,
I was very interested in this item given the price and everything it includes. But, what everyone says is right. The actual width of the wire is 8 gauge; but the wire itself is 12 gauge. You're paying for insulation. Also, the hardware is cheap and not durable at all. Save your money and get something else.
Wiring is poor, connectors are ok

Reviewer: HomeTHJunkie,
All of the wiring in this kit is not as advertised. As the other reviewers have mentioned, the cables are thick because of the plastic shell. The actual copper portion of the wire is much smaller than stated size. The other items in the kit are ok (RCA cable, turn-on wire, connectors, etc.). But don't expect to use either the power, ground or speaker wire. For the price of the RCA cable and connectors, this worked ok but I ended up buying "real" 8 ga power wire (the copper content was almost double compared to this kit) along with 16 ga speaker wire. Overall, I would look elsewhere as I spent as much as the more expensive kits on here in the end.
DO NOT BUY

Reviewer: Joey,
this wire kit is absolutly horrible! it says u get 8 gauge. well the wire u get is more like 14 gauge. so if ur running a good amp ur gonna burn up the wire. the only thing usable in this kit is maybe the remote turn on wire and maybe the RCAs but even those are low quality. basically you dont get what u paid for. just dont do it. and on the box it says 1000 watts. with that tiny power wire (and ground wire) you prolly could get 100 watts. just dont buy this
