Crystal Clear Communication | | Review Date: December 7, 2007 | | Reviewer: Dave Turner, | I'm very impressed with the clarity of the BTM60. It's very easy to install and setup. I have a Moto RAZR and my wife has a Nokia 6133 and I didn't have any problems pairing either of them. I have it setup to auto connect and it has worked every time with both phones. According to the people that I've talked to, my voice is crystal clear and sounds much better than the Moto H500 Bluetooth headset that I was using. I highly recommend the BTM60 to anyone that has a compatible Dual head unit. |
Better than expected | | Review Date: November 23, 2008 | | Reviewer: GordonW, Maple Valley, WA USA | | Installed in Geo Metro Convertible about a month ago. Noise cancelling microphone OUTSTANDING. Can go 70 MPH on worn concrete freeway (roaring sound in passenger compartment) and in spite of all the noise around me I can carry on a conversation over cell phone hands free with person on other end NOT hearing the extra noise. Caller I.D. phone number (not name) appears on radio face when receiving call, redial works as advertized, no volume difference issues between radio and phone for me. I could not be happier with this setup! My LG VX9900 cell phone has a 2GIG memory card with music that also sincs with Btm60 no problem. When I get in the car, the phone automatically sincs with the Btm60 so I don't have to think about it, and when the stereo goes quiet to receive a call, my momentary wonderment (is there a problem?) is replaced by happiness not having to pull my phone out of my pocket, hold it up to my ear and deal with the distraction. I just push the button on the module (or auto answer is available), and start talking. Considering hands free devices used to be $200 and more, I'd say the Btm60 is a bargain for $46. |
Great | | Review Date: March 30, 2008 | | Reviewer: Jacob Salladini, Philly | | Great service, put mic (module) at tip of visor for best results.. Otherwise, awesome. |
Dual Bluetooth adaptor | | Review Date: October 17, 2008 | | Reviewer: Wade Oconnor, Chicago ,IL | | This unit works great with the stereo. I cut out the pillar and recess mounted the unit because it looked more professional. It does not pickup other people in the van as good as it does the driver but I would recommend it. |
complement | | Review Date: May 31, 2008 | | Reviewer: J. Heaps, Nashua, NH | | if you have the ability to add this to your Dual deck and don't your missing out. works and sounds flawless sending MP3's via Bluetooth the the car radio is the next best thing since slice bread and making calls while keeping your eyes were they belong while you drive just makes sense. |
Makes it easy! | | Review Date: July 6, 2008 | | Reviewer: M. Carpenter, | | This make useing a phone in the car a breeze, much safer than no hands free! |
All I can say is..... Wow! | | Review Date: August 26, 2008 | | Reviewer: Kitchen Discount Center, | | I added this to the Dual 6425 deck I put in my wife's car, and its really nice. No more need to keep track of the dingleberry, uh, I mean headset. No more need to make sure its charged either. No more need to burn cd's for her, I just download tracks to her phone. You get enough cord to hide it behind the panels going up the side of the window. |
A Worthy Accessory | | Review Date: September 14, 2008 | | Reviewer: Timothy S. Callahan, Jackson, NJ USA | I added this bluetooth module to my Dual XHD6425 and it works fantastic! The sound quality is good coming from the vehicles speakers and those I am speaking to say I am heard loud and clear, even with the windows open. I set it up with my LG phone in a matter of minutes. You do need to read both the manual that comes with the module and the manual for the stereo to take advantage of customizing your blutooth settings and learning all options for the unit. Well worth adding this to your Dual car stereo. |
Cannot live without it | | Review Date: September 25, 2008 | | Reviewer: Senthil Kumar, Colorado Springs, CO, USA | This little thing is so great. All I have to do is get into the car, turn it on and bingo, I am all hooked up (I use the Nokia 6102). Audio quality: 8/10 Ease of use: 10/10 Honestly, I think it should be mandated to have devices like this in every car. |
Works great! | | Review Date: February 10, 2010 | | Reviewer: J. Hoelter, Madison, WI | I purchased this shortly after purchasing the accompanying stereo kit. With the bluetooth add-on my stereo is complete! This thing works great and for $40 is a great deal! People hear me clearly and I hear them clearly. No one ever complains about background noise. No more fumbling around to get my phone out of my pocket while driving! You can set the stereo to automatically answer or simply press the call button to pick up. I also love that the stereo pauses whatever's playing when a call comes in and then resumes when it's over. If there's one minor complaint it's that you hold the mute button (as others have mentioned) to end a call and this is a slightly clunky process. Oh, and one more tip, the range on this thing is impressive. I once started my car in the garage and then went back inside my house to pick something up. When I tried calling someone, I could see my phone was ringing but there was no sound. I was puzzled for a second until I realized the call had gone to my car...whoops! If you own the dual stereo system I recommend plopping down the extra dough to purchase this add-on. You won't be disappointed! |
Works great | | Review Date: January 17, 2010 | | Reviewer: J. Roman, Woodland, Ca. USA | | I connected the Dual Btm-60 to my Dual XHD6425 head unit. No more having to put a ear piece next to my head. The sound quality is great coming and going. A must add to if you have that chance. Dual XHD6425 4X50 Watt Bluetooth-Ready HD Radio and MP3 Player |
Install Module in correct spot. | | Review Date: February 6, 2008 | | Reviewer: Elizabeth Hageman, | | This product does work good but... you must have the product installed on your visor. I have mine installed above my radio so that I didn't have to run wires all over the place and now I have to practically yell so that the microphone wil pick up my voice. If the microphone was directly above me I would not have that problem. |
Great low-cost Bluetooth option | | Review Date: November 20, 2007 | | Reviewer: David Ditzler, Chicago, IL | I have installed this along with a Dual headunit and I found it easy and straight forward. It is great to get into the car and power up the stereo and have it automatically connect to your phone. The only thing I don't like about is that you have to hold the mute button for 3 seconds to hangup. I assumed incorrectly that the big phone button would be for answering and hanging up. It is to answer only. Very impressed for the money. I paid less for the Dual headunit and the bluetooth adapter than some companies charge just for the bluetooth adapter.

An excellent and inexpensive Bluetooth accessory for your Dual receiver | | Review Date: August 21, 2008 | | Reviewer: Patrick, San Francisco, CA USA | | The Dual BTM60 works great. The microphone picks up your voice clearly and the voice of person I'm talking to is played loud and clearly over the speakers. Mounting the Bluetooth unit was somewhat challenging though. You just have a small clip and Velcro to attach the transceiver to the visor and it's up to you how to snake and mount the long cable from the back of the receiver to your visor. Setting up the Bluetooth connection was unremarkable. By the way, I didn't try playing music through the Bluetooth thought the option is available. |
works good but!!! | | Review Date: November 15, 2007 | | Reviewer: J. D. Emery, vancouver, wa | | it seems to work the way it is designed with only one exception, with the 6400 you have to use the speaker outputs to get any audio, if you try to use the pre-amp output of the deck there is no audio. once i figured this out i have been happy with it. |
Nice add-on for Dual head units | | Review Date: January 23, 2008 | | Reviewer: Kelley, Phoenix, AZ. | | Bluetooth made really easy, it just plugs in. The microphone picks up really good even from the kitchen (installed in motorhome)! You only need to be close if there is a lot of background noise. The head unit has a lot of features that are really useful like having up to eight phones paired! The whole family can get calls and automatically turn down the stereo. Bluetooth really is a necessary feature for any car or motorhome. |
Pretty good | | Review Date: August 5, 2008 | | Reviewer: Walter J. Spurgiasz III, Long Beach, CA | Can be a pain to install, but once in, it worked well. People say I sound good, and I hear them well over the speakers. Biggest problem is some bug in the software. Pushing and holding the Talk button does not connect my phone to the BTM60. Instead I need to dig though the menus on the radio. Not a show stopper, but I wish it worked the way it say it does in the manual. |
Necessary if ordering Dual XHD6425 | | Review Date: September 29, 2008 | | Reviewer: Kevin Bushman, Fort Lauderdale, FL USA | | This is a must have if you are ordering the Dual XHD6425 4X50 Watt Bluetooth Ready Hd Radio and Mp3 Player. It's a gread addition. It works much better than a sony bluetooth receiver I owned before. Call quality is decent. People tell me they can hear me just fine but that I sound a little far away. I'd recommend this device to anyone looking to upgrade to bluetooth in their car. |
nice device | | Review Date: October 23, 2009 | | Reviewer: jimbo, | I bought the Dual headunit over a year ago and just now upgraded to a cell phone that was compatible with the BTM60 so I purchased the module. Once installed, I find the clarity to be excellent both for me and the recipient. I drive a convertible and even with the top down and the car in traffic, clarity is excellent. I did not install my module on the visor, but rather just below the headunit and, as stated already, clarity is excellent. Voice dialing may not be perfect, but you can use the little remote for everything. I prefer the remote over the buttons on the headunit. Definitely an upgrade over the factory radio (headunit) when coupled with the BTM60 module. |
Makes talking in the car a joy | | Review Date: March 21, 2010 | | Reviewer: Kit Steiner, Tucson, AZ United States | | I purchased this unit over a year ago to go with the radio I purchased, which included the blue tooth phone, but not the adapter necessary to use the feature. The unit plugged into the radio with ease, and functions perfectly. You may have to move it around on the dash until you find the perfect spot for reception. I do get complaints now and then that I need to speak up. I believe this is due to the mic's sensitivity which tends to pick up ambient noise from the car. All in all I love it, and would never go back to holding the phone, or using the bluetooth stuck in my ear. |
Good | | Review Date: January 25, 2010 | | Reviewer: Arlene Segal, F.L | | Overall its great . Works as advertised , my only annoyance is when you turn the radio off it disconnects from your phone . FYI The microphone needs to be mounted on the ceiling , otherwise the microphone will not pick your voice up . |
Streaming Music from my iPhone - Just Okay | | Review Date: October 28, 2009 | | Reviewer: Brian Houston, | I have to admit, I'm a big fan of Bluetooth. Since Apple's iPhone firmware 3.0 announced A2DP support (stereo Bluetooth), I've bought 3 different pairs of Bluetooth headphones, and this, the BTM60 for my Dual XHD6425. This is probably my least favorite of the bunch. Installation was a breeze. You plug it in to the back of the unit, then run the wire behind the dash, making sure the microphone is clipped to the visor. Pairing was also pretty simple. You hold the "phone" button down on the dash unit for a couple seconds, enter the password "1234" on the handheld device (my iPhone), and you're set. Then I started finding some little annoying things they didn't bother to include. You can't change the EQ presets in Bluetooth mode; you can change bass and treble, and "loud", but not the "rock", "dance", "pop", etc. You also cannot display the clock while it's in Bluetooth mode; it shows "AV MODE" while it's connected, and when you play music, "AV STREAM". Why?? I know it's supposed to support AVRCP (Audio-Video Remote Control Profile) which allows you to play/pause, fast-forward, rewind, skip tracks, etc., but I am only able to play/pause. Not that big a deal, and I actually think this is a problem with the iPhone, not the BTM60. And the sound quality of the music, I have to admit is terrific. After shutting the car off, the iPhone doesn't realize the connection is lost for about ~15 seconds and continues to "play" with no audio. I usually hit pause on the dash before shutting the engine off, just so I don't lose my place in the song. The call quality, I think, is pretty poor. I have to turn the volume WAY up to hear people through the speakers, and practically yell for anyone to hear me. Granted, there is a fair amount of road noise in my car, but I thought this was able to cancel it out. It's certainly not the location of the microphone; it's almost directly in front of my mouth. I don't make a lot of calls from my car though, so this is not such a big deal for me. I bought it mainly to stream music. An incoming call seamlessly fades out and pauses your music and sounds the ringer (an escalating series of tones). When the call is done, it automatically unpauses and fades in your music. All in all, it's about what I was expecting, and my complaints are minor but numerous. It's still a huge step up from my FM transmitter with the factory stereo. I never even have to take the iPhone out of my pocket. Just wait for it to connect (~30 seconds after starting the car), and hit play on the dash. |
Does not do voice dial properly | | Review Date: November 27, 2008 | | Reviewer: Kin K. Ng, | | It does almost everything except one of the most important things as an auto Bluetooth device for the car: dialing out while driving. No body in their right mind will dial out by pressing the tiny buttons on the head unit, nor should they dial out on their phone. Pretty much all phones support some kind of voice dial nowadays and pretty much all headsets do voice dial as their normal function. Well the BTM60 doesn't. My Samsung BlackJack II uses Windows Mobile 6's built-in Voice command to dial. My 3 headsets will initiate voice dial by pressing a button on the headset. For the BTM60 to do voice dial, you have to get out your phone, press a button on the phone, then speak to the BTM60 to do voice dial. This really defeats an important purpose of having a Bluetooth unit in the first place. So BTM60 is not totally a hands-free device. |
Not compatible with most LG Phones, absolutely lousy manual | | Review Date: July 13, 2008 | | Reviewer: Nagronsky, Skagit Valley, Wa USA | | I bought this for use with my Dual XHD-6425 CD Receiver. Took me about 5 minutes to install, despite the ridiculously insufficient manual, which basically said "You've got this, now look at your head unit instructions" which aren't real great either. I powered it up, paired it with my phone, & tried a call. I got a beep from the speakers when I first hit the speed dial button, and that was all, no more sound, just a display reading "AV MODE". I talked to Dual's Tech support, but they've no idea why this would be displayed. BTW, you have the option of the visor mount or Velcro-ing it somewhere. The Velcro pad adhesive is terrible. I could have hung a loogie & gotten better adhesion. |
password | | Review Date: December 20, 2008 | | Reviewer: Delphin, MD USA | | to connected you must need a password so call or by email to "dual company" .It worked for 3 days righnow I got trouble again. |
never again | | Review Date: January 30, 2010 | | Reviewer: disappointed, | | The seller was great, the product was horrible (defective) to be short, dual customer support is the worst ever. I have now had 5 of thier products and without exception, all of them were defective, from radios to cd players to this bluetooth device. I will not recommend this manufacturer to anyone, nor will I ever knowingly purchase anything else from this manufacturer. Again, the seller from amazon was great. |
The Cable is way too short. | | Review Date: March 6, 2010 | | Reviewer: Timothy D. Gray, Grand Rapids, MI | I bought the unit to add bluetooth to my car stereo. the unit shows up and only has a 6 foot cable on it. Great if you want the cable dangling across the windshield, junk if you want to actually install the unit in the car with no wires showing. Running the wires properly will place the unit right next to the drivers side window by the dashboard. Perfect if all you want to let your caller hear is road noise, bad if you want them to actually hear you. The cable needs to be an additional 6 feet longer to install it in anything but a tiny clown car. DO NOT BUY THIS if you want to actually install it where it belongs, on the visor. |
STOP - READ BEFORE BUYING !!! | | Review Date: March 26, 2009 | | Reviewer: B. Mehta, Texas | This thing works only with comatible car stereos... so add 100-200 or 300$ on top of this.. I gave someone as a B'day gift and when it did not work.. I was very embarrassed... I say may be good product if you spend 2-300$ but bad marketing trick. |
