Does a Cat-Back Exhaust system really add more horsepower compared to just replacing the muffler?
I chopped off my stock muffler on my jeep, then replaced it with a performance muffler. The guy who replaced it said there is really no need to do all the pipes after the cats; since the stock pipes are the same size as a performance system. So is just getting the muffler just as good?

A cat back will improve power, if only slightly. Mandrel bending and crossovers can make a difference.
The real difference is felt when your dealing with 400+ HP. The return on investment is questionable on stock engines.
