Should young people who work hard to buy a sports car with their own many get an insurance discount?
Vs kids who get their parents to buy them a sports car? Should young people get a discount off their premium for buying sports cars with their own money. Because they will appreciate the car a lot more and do everything they can to not cause an accident.

The companies give discounts for others reasons but not by how you buy your car, try this site
http://yourfinance.co.cc/Insurance.html
here you can get quotes from different companies in your area.

that would be nice, but it would never happen because earning the car with your own money doesn’t make the car any safer. Even if the person tried their hardest to stay out of accidents they would still happen that’s why they are called accidents =[

Personally I agree with you they should get a discount, but unfortunately the insurance companies dont see it that way.
Instead they look at your school reports to see if you care as much there and use that to give discounts.

seems logical but the insurance company don’t care how the car is paid for, they just see what kind of car it is and see that a teen is driving so its going to be high no matter how the car is being paid for, just like when you make a payment on the vehicle they don’t care where the money came from (who’s money it is) as long as you pay it on time everytime
also it don’t matter if the kid is paying for it themselves, they will still drive it how they want to, example me, i’ve never had a sports car but i’ve had chevy trucks with V8s, only had V8s and i’ve also paid for both of the trucks i’ve had myself and well i drive them hard, first one i got rid of when i got the truck i got now but the truck i got now only me and God knows how much sh*t i’ve done in that truck both on the street and mudding/off roading
also about the accidents no matter how hard you try you can still get in an accident, a simple little mistake can cause an accident, you can think your a safe perfect driver then you get distracted or take your eyes off the road for 2 seconds then next thing you know your upside down in a ditch
now i get what your getting at because i do hate how some teens get nice cars that they can’t handle, not hating (not hating because i plan on trading the truck i have now a 98 silverado 1500 Z71 in for a $53,000 chevy silverado 2500HD and thats not evne fully loaded) on them trust me but i just hate how parents can be stupid enough to get someone with 2 months experience a $40,000 vehicle or a vehicle with over 400HP, now its ok if the parents help some like maybe pay half or something but i don’t think parents should buy them nice cars and then pay for everything, my first truck i got was when i was 17, it was a POS 86 chevy full size 2wd but it ran good, paid for it straight up with the money i saved, i also learned how to drive a stick on it, had well over 250,000 miles on it when i got it and it still ran good
hope i didn’t say too much lol

It’s a nice thought, but it doesn’t work that way. I agree with you, by the way.

Nope, impossible to prove where the money came from to pay for the vehicle.
