Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI Review
We hold an open casting call for any driver wanting to test the new Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI due to Matt Farah’s busted knee. Many failed auditions later, we found a temporary replacement, and were going to watch him try and keep this Audi supercar on the road.

the good news is, if you prefer the GT3, it’s about 45k cheaper than the R8.

That is exactly my point. This r8 is not worth 150k, nor is the v8 r8 worth 130k. I think Porsche pretty much rules the world of supercars between 70 and 200 grand.

Having worked for both Audi and Porsche, while I love both cars. I’d still rather have the R8.

Great review even though I don’t entirely agree with the comparison to the Gallardo. I’ve only driven the V8 manual but I can imagine what’s it like with an extra 100hp. The R8 much more German then the Gallardo is more precise and balanced the quattro is more liberal so you can pull spectacular slides. And keeping in mind all the equipment on the Lambo came from the A8. The R8 is a good well balanced drivers car puts me in mind of the NSX-R. Everything about is precision.

@buttnut1080 dont be a hater dude you and i both know the audi is years ahead in looks and it will get you more pussy faster then 911 turbo goes 0 to 60;)

@H8ISGR8 rite on man

Why shouldn’t I be a hater? I don’t like the R8, do you have a problem with that? Why would you say it would get me more pussy? You’re so immature. And actually, the turbo hits 60 faster than both the V8 and V10 R8′s. You obviously don’t know cars so don’t waste my time.

@buttnut1080 I completely disagree with that statement. The R8 is a bargain at those prices. It may be a tenth or two slower than the similarly-priced 911′s, but the R8 more than makes up for it with styling and the beautiful balance that comes from driving a Mid-engined car. No Porsche I’ve ever driven (GT3 and Turbo included) has ever felt as easy to drive very hard as an R8, and in fact, 911′s at the limit can be downright scary if you don’t know what you’re doing.
buttnut1080 on April 14, 2010 at 7:16 pm
What’s the problem with a 911? The 911 has always been the famous sportscar for many decades. The R8 is not a bargain. It is way overpriced and underpowered. Its just not worth all that money. I realize it looks cool and handles well but still, you can’t go wrong with a GT3, GT3 RS, Turbo, or Turbo S. The 911 is more of a true sportscar. And if a person doesn’t know what they’re doing at the limit of a hardcore 911, then they shouldn’t be driving it; the same goes for the R8.
buttnut1080 on April 15, 2010 at 7:08 pm
I think a porsche 911 GT3 is more of a supercar. The R8 is great on the road and all that but it doesn’t really do what supercars do; it’s just not ‘fun’. The R8 is really just a GT car with its engine in the middle. The AWD and heavy electronic involvement ruins personal driver experience. I’m sure the R8 is great on the road but a GT3 would be a lot more fun on the track just because it more of an exciting car to drive. As good as the R8 may actually be, its not a true supercar.

audi owns lambo now so their coming up in the world. I love the r8 but i think the v10 is over priced. The v8 is the goods

That doesn’t make any sense at all. What the hell are you talking about?
Kyu1LL on May 8, 2010 at 5:48 am
@Sazabi3OOO but it was cuz of the rocks, not the car so much, and i’m not saying that just because i’m a GT-R fan lol. I love the R8 btw,… but i’d buy one for exterior styling.. if it was for performance, probably a lambo or a deticated track GTR
