I was wondering how easy or difficult it is to replace these items. My car keeps getting a P1407 code which I believe is no signal from EGR. We replaced the sensor but that didn’t help.

Also, any tips on replacing it are more than welcome :) Thanks in advance!

I have a 1999 jeep that i’m going to keep for awhile wondering if a cold intake air filter is worth it, does it really help performance.

The brake dust is impossible and everything I’ve used just doesn’t clean well enough. I’d love to have bright, clean, shiny wheels!

My car was sat in storage for a while (9 months)
It now wont start. The battery is fine (trust me- its fine!), the wiring is fine, all electronic control is fine. Spark plugs are fine, fuel injection is fine, fuel itself is fine, air intake is fine.

My thoughts are surrounding parts which may have seized.
It is a strong possibiliy that the engine/alternator have seized up, preventing the car from starting. I have tried to push the car in 5th gear (plugs removed) and it rocks back and forth but can’t be pushed.

I also have suspicions about the starter motor:
When I try to crank the motor, There is one ‘clunk’, and I can see the drive belt move maybe half a centimetre, definately no more than that.

When I initially tried to start the car, all I got was a clicking noise (which made me think faulty starter solenoid). Every now and again there would be a half-’clunk’ and then all electronics in the car would die out (even when the ignition was turned on and off etc- I had to remove the -ve terminal to restore electronics). If I didn’t remove the -ve terminal, the electrics would slowly come back after 20 seconds or so (the digital displays would come back on, but be reset), however if I tried to start the car it would just not respond at all to any attempts- it just ignored it until i disconnected the -ve terminal. Any thoughts on this point? Maybe the solenoid was getting stuck at the starter motor end- but then disconnecting the battery shouldnt solve this any better than turning the ignition off. Anyway that hasn’t happened for a while now

Maybe the solenoid has become partially unstuck now and is making enough contact with the motor for a small current to pass (allowing for a ‘clunk’ but nothing more)?

Additionally, after failing to start the engine, I kept getting error codes relating to crankshaft/camshaft position sensors (maybe this was because the ECU thought the engine had started but detected no movement from the sensors and thought they were bad?)

Any clever thoughts????

The car is a year 2000 Nissan Almera (UK version of the sentra) with a 1.8l QG18DE engine.
