This mechanic tried to tell me that my fuel filter was put on backwards, but wouldn’t that be like plugging the line, therefore preventing any gas from flowing? I drove it for a year before he told me this and I am having trouble understanding how that is possible.

Because the spare tire in the trunk is not exposed to the weather or the suns UV rays, I feel it should not have to be discarded because of years as the tires on the car.
